Gelazzi

What is it about being on vacation that makes one think they MUST have copious amounts of dessert? My final food-find of my trip to Denver is Gelazzi, an authentic gelato shop with an innovative twist: they also serve alcohol.
Not just any mixed drink can be had here. They serve two types of mixed drinks - one that’s creamy and made with chocolate (or other flavors) gelato, and another that’s fruity and made with one of their fruit sorbets.
I opted for a chocolate/hazelnut flavor in a waffle cone (hey, I was on vacation!). The service was beyond friendly, offering my husband and I a tiny taste of the two varieties of martini - both were delicious. They also let us know that all of the gelato and sorbet is freshly made in-house.
Gelazzi is located in Downtown Denver in Larimer Square at 1411 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80202
Phone: 303-534-5056
They also have an additional location in Fort Collins, and according to their website, have more locations to come.
Here’s a suggestion: Los Angeles!

What a fantastic idea! I hope the trend continues west.
For me, it’s because I don’t have sweets in the house, so when I go away I like to splurge. Let me tell you, I’d fly to Denver just to go to Gelazzi!
Darlene - No kidding! It would be great to have a Gelato martini whenever I want.
Susan - if you ever do have Gelazzi, please do drop me a line and let me know what you think.
I love that idea too! I hope they make it to the East Coast!
I actually work at the Fort Collins Gelazzi- we appreciate all the positive feedback! We’re currently looking to open more Gelazzi locations, so keep your fingers crossed that we’ll make it to you
Hmmm, I am tempted to try this.
